v.—ing/—ed+介詞(短語)/副詞+be+主語+其他成分

【句式點撥】

這是?個倒裝句,主語是lotsofstrangecreatureswithwhiteskinandlargeblackeyes。因為creatures是復數形

式,所以謂語動詞用復數形式的were。句子倒裝是因為主語較長,為了避免“頭重腳輕”的現象,所以使用

倒裝結構,將表語置于主語之前。

(l)sothat“為了”,引導目的狀語從句,從句謂語動詞往往含有can,could,may,might,would等情態動詞。

(2)sothat還可以引導結果狀語從句,此時從句謂語動詞一般不會有情態動詞。
